Once again, the Red Flash fail to capitalize on our opportunities. If we don't end up with a winning record, I suggest a new coach. I fear our current sideline roamer has reached his plateau.

I'm a medievalist all the way. Crusaders>Bulldogs.
Besides, the NEC isn't receiving an at-large bid even if the Rhode Island school wins and Bryant beat the Red Flash. I do not subscribe to the "SEC root for the conference" mentality. I care only for my Red Flash, the NEC can (and will) crash and burn. I prefer the CAA or PL for St. Francis. The NEC is a conference without vision.

If Bryant and CCSU win out, the Bulldogs might get some consideration for an at-large depending on the pool of candidates. They have revived some votes in the Top-25 poll this year.
The Bulldogs would finish 8-3, which would include 2 losses to playoff teams (#2 Coastal Carolina, and NEC AQ Central Connecticut). They would have non-conf wins at Brown and at Holy Cross. The only "bad loss" would be at Monmouth. It isn't a great resume, but who knows what other teams will be out there then.

Me and Sandlapper Spike picked this game at 20-17. Spike called it a win and I called a loss. Either way, we were both right about one thing: Mercer is right there on the cusp of competing for hardware. They remind me of us last year, just two or three plays away from a winning season.

UCA 21
SELA 15
Tons of players substituted in on both sides of the ball. Close game. SELA played to win and had plenty to throw at the Bears.
That leaves 3'teams in title contention. McNeese, SHSU, and UCA.

On the rare chance that you missed it, Dayton defeated Jacksonville 31-14 to improve to 8-0.

Also interesting that that cupcake Kennesaw State that Dayton defeated earlier is right in the thick of the Big South race. Oh, and the current co-leader of the NEC also went down to the Flyers this year.... Can't wait to receive zero votes in the coaches poll again this week....

Thats ok. UCA wont receive any votes in any of the polls and they are the likely third team to make the playoffs from the SLC and even have a chance to win the conference and get the autobid if things fall right.

Isn't that kinda the point? UCA already lost to McNeese and they're most likely finished if they lose to Sam Houston. I'm guessing UCA's chances at 7-4 are less than 50%. With a loss to McNeese, a blowout loss to now unimpressive Samford, and no particularly notable wins, the Bears are gonna have to beat a key opponent to be top-25 worthy.

Umm UCA has to play SFA first!

UCA has a much better chance than 50%. SFA at home. Nicholls on the road. Both very winnable games. SHSU is the question. But much better than 50%. UCA could fit in the top 25 with all those other 3 loss teams.

Sorry, I wasn't totally clear. I meant that UCA's chances of getting an at-large are less than 50% if they finish 7-4.
