UNH's streak of weeks ranked in the FCS top 25 came to end on Monday, November 19. While rarely a dominant team, and never making it to the Championship game, the Wildcats were instead the measure of consistency during this 12 year period, routinely finding a way to win the "must win" game and generally improving as a team throughout the season.

Here is a link to an article on the streak:

Good question. My guess is the current streak is in the 4-5 years 50'ish week range? EWU came to mind first....

*UPDATE* The UNH release says it's Montana at 80 weeks. They definitely survived a few weeks on reputation...

I believe it's actually Montana State.

Pretty remarkable. The UNH schedule should allow for a new streak to start soon.

It isn't Montana. The Griz went 5-6 in 2012.

Yah, if we keep Richmond on there it will definitely help!

It is, but our streak probably should have ended in the last week or two.

It would have to start after 09 since that was a, it pains me to say it, 3-8 season. So assuming they were ranked by mid season in 10, it would be somewhere between 65-70 consecutive weeks.

162 was the "longest active" being ranked
Any idea what the longest run all time is?

4. S. Dakota St. 43
5. Coastal Carolina 38
Montana 38
7. Fordham 35
8. Youngstown St 32
9. Chattanooga 28
10. Jacksonville St. 25
11. Northern Iowa 23
Richmond 23
Villanova 23
14. Eastern Kentucky 20
15. Illinois State 19
16. Indiana State 18
17. Harvard 16
18. James Madison 12
19. Sam Houston St. 11
20. Portland State 7

Montana was ranked for 195 consecutive weeks, between November 2, 1998 and October 2, 2012. I'm not sure if that's the all time record, though.

It might be, just like your 17-18 consecutive year playoff streak!! That always kept the UNH accomplishment in perspective for me!! Outstanding, but not the best ever.
