They do?
But seriously, I graduated from Quinnipiac and have been an avid supporter of their hockey program since their D-II days. I have QU season tickets and I'm very much looking forward to the new arena opening next month. As far as Yale goes, it's really only football that I follow (hence my screen name "YaleFootballFan" as opposed to just "YaleFan"). In my family, I'm a third generation Yale football fan. As for Yale hockey, I do like to see them win....excpet when they're playing Quinnipiac, of course!

Michigan hockey fan right here. Red Berenson & Yost arena, two of the staples of college hockey.

I go to a couple Denver Pioneer games a year. I live about 15 miutes from the arena. My father is an alum so I have been following them for decades.

Several of the local kids have played there recently, like Jeff Taffe.
Ben Utecht(Indianapolis Colts) also played goalie on Taffe's High School team. 6'6" goalie :eyebrow:

Yale looked pretty good this year until the usual losses to Clarkson and ST.L. Beating Harvard in hockey the same night as the football game gave me some hope. The "Yale Whale" must really be aging. It was old the last time I was there which was maybe 20 years ago. Have you been there lately. Is that where they play Q. Any plans for a new arena that you've heard.
Looks like a long year in hoops, also.

For its age, Ingalls Rink isn't that bad. It's in good shape and they recently added a brand new scoreboard hanging above center ice. There are no official plans to replace The Whale, but the local blowhard in the New Haven Register keeps bringing up that Yale needs to build a new arena for hockey and basketball to replace the old New Haven Coliseum.
Quinnipiac's new hockey and basketball arena will be completed next month. Last year QU played some "home" games at Ingalls, but their real home for the last several years has been at the tiny Northford Ice Pavilion (capacity 1,700). The new QU hockey arena will seat about 3,200.
Yale hoops is in for a long, long year. I actually thought they'd be pretty decent this year. Last night was a new all time low for the Yale basketball program.....losing to Sacred Heart. Ouch.

Harvard is having a "rebuilding year," as rare home losses to Yale and Princeton will attest. But we did shut out Boston College at home, which gives me some hope for the future.

Not to mention a victory over then 20th ranked Quinnipiac to boot, who was coming off league wins over Clarkson, Colgate and Cornell.
Harvard having a "rebuilding year" is quite rare, but I think they will hold their own in the ECACHL this year. There's a lot of young talent on that team.

Does club hockey count? We just opened a brand new rink back in January. It seats about 3000 or so and we draw 2000-2500 everytime the team is at home. For a club team, that's not bad.

I am a new Yale Hockey Fan. One of my real good friend's dad is coaching there now. He was a goalie coach for both sweden and the U.S. along with a few NHL gigs before he started head coaching. Coach Allain is a good guy, I hope they do real well.

How did White Bear do? They came to Fargo-Moorhead last weekend and got thumped by Fargo South 5-1 and Moorhead 5-2. I saw the South game and thought they might be ranked a little to high.

lost 2-1 in over time. They started a Sophmore goalie (his first start) that came off the JV squad. They said he played lights out in the 2 JV games earlier this year. He stood on his head a few times and played with a ton of confidence. With him in nets they may be ranked about right. They also talked about Moorhead being the team to beat in minnesota.

A 3 point weekend for the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Friday was 4-4 tie with RPI and last night a 4-2 WIN over Union College. QU heads into the break with an 8-4-4 overall record and first place in the ECACHL (5-2-3, 13 points, 2 points ahead of second place Cornell).
Only 3 more home games at the NIP before we move into the TD Banknorth Sports Center!
GO QUINNIPIAC!
