The Natural. Then Major League.
The last date I ever went on with my first girlfriend was to see Bang the Drum Slowly with Robert DeNiro and Michael Moriarity in Hutchinson, MN on June 1, 1974.
I'm still trying to forget that one...........

I assume not the type of movie you are talking about but Moneyball was very good as well

"It Happens Every Spring"
Only because I loved it as a kid.
When I see it now, the baseball scenes look terrible. So obvious none of the actors had ever picked up a baseball.
Also, the "hero" was cheating.

Field of Dreams. It's about baseball. Not just a baseball movie. I still get a lump in my throat when Ray plays catch with his Dad.

I love that one as well. I know it is campy, but it is still good clean fun. You even get to see a young Alan Hale as a college baseball player. So he gets to say "Hey, Professor" long before he landed on the island.

Alan Hale was probably the one person in the movie who you could believe was a ballplayer.

To be fair, the main character wasn't supposed to be a real baseball player. He was a chemist who invented the anti-wood potion. So he shouldn't be expected to have great form. Most of the scenes showed guys flailing at a moving baseball, so even Ted Williams would look bad.

Pride of the Yankees... and when a Red Sox fan says that, you know it was a damn good movie.

Bull Durham is my favorite. I also like Major League, Major League II, and 61* a lot. 42 is pretty good for a more recent one as well.
One underrated baseball movie IMO is "For Love of the Game". The lead actress is horrible and the romantic part of the movie is boring and predictable but the baseball parts of that movie are really well done.

I suppose we could also do the worst baseball movies ever...

Rookie of the Year
Angels in the Outfield
The Scout
Sorry, but For the Love of the Game
All the Bad New Bears sequals

Summer Catch. It's been a long time and I only watched it once but I remember being outraged that a pitcher would leave the mound in the middle of a perfect game (or a no hitter) to go after a girl. The Scout is right up there too.
In the words of the great Crash Davis "Never **** with a winning streak!"
