Head coach Harold Jackson has been fired according to the Clarion Ledger. Jackson State is 1-4 this season and went 5-7 last year in Jackson’s first season as head coach. We understand that receivers coach Derrick McCall will serve as interim head coach.

They were founded in 1883 that's moderately elite by today's standards.

Jackson is one of those places where you better win 9 games a season or you are on the hotseat

he should've not been hired in the first place. it was an emotional hire, it seems. Yeah he's a JSU alum, yeah he played multiple years in the NFL, yeah he spent multiple years coaching NFL, FBS and overseas football. but the guy was a long-term positions coach, not a coach to lead a team. however there are bigger things going on in athletics that needs to be corrected.
