I know conferences like the MAC like to play on odd days when no one else is playing to try to get more exposure, but A midweek day like Tuesday just seems like an odd time to have a football game. I would think it would be hard to get psyched for a Football Tuesday...you have so much school/work related stuff going on in your mind. Wofford has had a couple of Thursday games...better than Tusday but still not overly crazy about those either. I think football was meant to be a weekend activity.

Yah, I think that's exactly what it was. They signed the deal with ESPN, and in order to not be competing with the SEC and other conferences, they chose Tuesdays. For selfish reasons I always like it because outside of football I don't follow any sports. So I get tired of only being able to choose from NBA, NCAAB, or MLB. It was always nice having a football game to watch instead.

Actually a really good game. NIU made some huge mistakes and had their two star players go down. But somehow still pulled off the upset.

I love me some MAC! That was a great game on Tuesday! Last night, not so much. Ohio has fallen off the last couple of years. They were ranked a couple times when Temple was still in the conference.

When Ohio played the Gophers in 1969 in the season opener it was the first college football game that I ever attended. Despite the 35-35 tie I caught the bug and haven't lost it since. I would rather watch college football than any other sport.

There was a game last year where they showed the stands during a replay review and it looked like there were more players/staff/officials/cheerleaders than there were people in the stands. But to be fair it was in the 30's and snowing and blowing.

I think it is a money move. ESPN wants FB on tv as much as they can put it on because they know there are suckers like myself that will watch FB every day of the week. I am willing to bet ESPN approached every conference that's better than the MAC about the idea for Tuesday/Wednesday night football. In reality the MAC is really the only conference that works because of the conference footprint for travel purposes.

I don't think it makes them any more relevant, but I would be willing to bet the Sun Belt would kill for this opportunity, some of the schools not so much. I also bet that there are a few FCS conferences that would love this opportunity as well. Its a sell your soul type of thing. I do think this move keeps them closer to the MWC than the Sun Belt. If you remember the MWC used to own Thursday night football, then the NFL decided to dabble in that game, so they moved to Friday nights. Usually Boise games to show off the blue turf. Now they aren't even the only game on Fridays so they have a couple late Sat night games that get on ESPN primary's. Before the MWC played the Friday night games it was Big East/AAC. The ACC was before the big east. But no matter who you look at and how you look at it, it has always been teams trying to keep up with that top tier of schools we now know as the P5. It did work for the AAC. And as more sports networks have come to exist there are more opportunities to get in front of a TV audience. I would've never imagined that every NDSU game would be on TV one day. In fact I remember the time when road games didn't always have highlights until you got to watch the coaches show.

The NCAA will not force the MAC out of FBS. The NCAA has never made any attempt to penalize schools not meeting the I-A standards for attendance.

Also it can be argued that the MAC is as relevant as it ever has been. They have a few good teams every year, and people like us are talking about MAC football. Attendance at some schools appears to be rather poor, but the conference as a whole is pretty solid.

Going to be hard to argue that Georgia Southern and App State only win because they're in the Slum Belch if they go 3-0 against top MAC teams.
