Who will win the Heisman Trophy? Is there anyone who surpassed Troy Smith?

These were the top 10 contenders at the end of last week.

1. Troy Smith, Ohio State (probably will win by a landslide...not really much competition for this award this year)

2. Brady Quinn, ND (no way, Jose)
3. Steve Slaton, WVU (maybe in another year)
4. Mike Hart, Michigan
5. Darren McFadden, Arkansas
6. Colt Brennan, Hawaii
7. Pat White, WVU (see #3)
8. Ray Rice, Rutgers (see #s 3 & 7)
9. Calvin Johnson, GT
10. Ted Ginn, Jr, Ohio State (too bad he couldn't show up his teammate)

who would you add/take away from this list?? there's plenty of other good players out there....

I think Garret Wolfe from NIU will probably finish in the top 10. I would also make Brennan #4 & Hart #5.

i liked McFadden on Saturday. He played really well against Florida.

i think next year the heisman race will be more exciting. slaton and white at WVU will be great (if they can get their defense in line i think they'll be serious title contenders next year)- ginn, jr still has another year at ohio state (i think), quinn has another year, brohm has another year (i think as well)....

Hart & Henne will both be back at Michigan also.

I believe McFadden is a sophomore.

Troy Smith is pretty much guaranteed the Heisman this year.

Brady Quinn is a Senior. ND has several blue chip freshman QBs to choose from plus another coming in this Spring, Jimmy Clausen. Clausen is the top rated recruit, who threw 57 TDs in HS this year.

OSU's Smith is a lock for the Heisman this year, but I'm a McFadden fan - the kid can just flat out play. If I was a pro team and if he was coming out (he's only a sophomore though) I'd take him in a heart beat - great athlete.

haha...thanks. for some reason i thought he was only a junior this year. i guess its just too bad that his senior year wasn't much to talk about. he'll get drafted anyway....

Quinn plays in black & silver (Raiders) next year or Silver & Blue with the Lions (I don't wish either option on anybody, until Davis dies or Millen gets fired!)

My top Heisman Candidates for '07:

Darren McFadden
Steve Slaton
Ray Rice
Pat White

I'd include Mike Hart or Chad Henne on that list, Michigan will be ranked probably top 3 preseason for '07.

I think it's a shame that they judge the Heisman more on how well the team does, rather than how good the individual is.

I personally think Brady Quinn is a better player than Troy Smith, but Smith definitely has the better players surrounding him, making him look better.

Again, only my opinion, but I don't think Troy Smith should win it.

Defensive players need to start having a shot at the Heisman. Ohio State's linebacker Laurentis is having a monster year.

Smith
Quinn
