James "Shack" Harris has succeeded in all chapters of his life in football: he led Carroll High School to a state championship then went to play for Grambling State before becoming the first black starting quarterback in NFL history. After a successful NFL career as a player, he transitioned to the front office realm and stayed inHis next football chapter: inspirational force.The Carroll football program will rename their fieldhouse in Harris' honor before Friday night's homecoming game against General Trass, presenting him with a plaque before revealing his name on the building.
