The Western Carolina football team put the finishing touches on its off-week on Thursday after a week's worth of practices dating back to Sunday. WCU head coach Mark Speir talked about the progress he felt his squad made during the bye week, and that he felt it came at a good time before the return to NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) play on Oct. 3.
