Wake Forest: 2006 ACC Champs

Well Wake won 9-6 against Georgia Tech to win the 2006 ACC Championshop. They now receive an automatic bid to the Orange Bowl.

It's Wake's first ACC title in 36 years. Personally I am very happy for them, as Wake was my team before my conversion to Appalachian.

What's everyone else's thoughts on the new champs and the game in general?

I am extremely excited for the Deacons. I am an App Alumn but was raised a Wake fan. My father went there and he use to take me to football and basketball games when I was a youngster. My father is stoked as well. We may actually go down to Miami for the game. Once in a lifetime experience to see Wake in an Orange Bowl.

It was a defensive stuggle, but the Deacons stopped them on a couple of 4th downs and they hassled Reggie Ball all day.

Glad to see the Deacs doing great since none of the other ACC schools from North Carolina seem to win too often. My Wolfpack is stinkin' it up. Hopefully they'll get back on track with a new coach.

It really was a great season for Wake Forrest, though. I just hope it ends here.

i love Wake Forest - i'm a humongous ACC fan (mostly in basketball...but I will root for them in football too). I will be rooting for Wake to beat Louisville....but I definitely think Louisville will roll over Wake. I just don't think they've got what it takes to defend against Brohm....34-20 Louisville

I really think this could be the most lopsided BCS game. I don't think Wake has the horses on offense to hang w/Louisville. But hey who would have even thought Wake Forest would be where they are now?

hahaha....i don't know. its a toss up between ND/LSU and Lousiville/WF for the most lopsided BCS game. xidiotx who will suck worse under pressure: Wake Forest or Brady Quinn. ha!

I think bettors have a lost a ton of money betting aginst Wake this year!!!!
LSU-Notre Dame will be rout. The best team ND beat this year is either GT or Purdue? LSU got robbed at Auburn or they probably would have been playing Ohio State. ( I know FLA got robbed at Auburn, too, but they still won the division and would have played a better LSU team than they played the first time).
