I was never a Yankee fan, more of a Yankee hater, but who didn't like Yogi.

Plus he was a coach and manager for the Mets and won a pennant in 1973.

One of the greats of the game.

Yep. Heard on the radio he's the second most-quoted American behind Mark Twain.

I feel old. I remember watching Yogi play in the Game of the Week back in the late 50's and early 60's. Yogi, Mantle, Maris, Whitey Ford, "Moose" Skowron....Broadcasters were Dizzy Dean and Pee Wee Reese.

Those were the days, my friend, I thought they'd never end.....

One of the most under-rated players ever.

I was actually disappointed in the coverage. They gave so much time to his Yogi-isms, that the fact that he was one of the top 5 catchers of all time seemed to be ignored.

Why would they cover what mattered?

The Future's not what it used to be...

And, check out Yogi Berra's telegram to Johnny Bench.

"I always knew the record would stand until it was broken"

A lot of guys go, ‘Hey, Yog, say a Yogi-ism.’ I tell ’em, ‘I don’t know any.’ They want me to make one up. I don’t make ’em up. I don’t even know when I say it. They’re the truth. And it is the truth. I don’t know. xthumbsupx
