We almost gave that one away; but somehow came away with a win. YSU had their chances to put it away after getting the ball back up 28-7; but took a conservative offense which the Birds stopped. ILSU is a great team with a good future... I wanna with them and their classy fans the best of luck!

Also, the lights didn't go out at the game. We had a halftime fireworks show and turned the lights on the east side off so the people on the west side could enjoy them.

10,813 announced attendance, about what I thought it would be but still dissapointed in the turnout despite the cold. There was almost no wind and I actually just had two long sleeves and a sweatshirt on and was comfortable until late in the 3rd qtr.

Great game ISU, not too many fans there for you guys but between your band and them they made noise.

And there had to be more than 10k there. I know the edges of the west side never fill up but it looked packed in the middle of them, and it was definitely crowded around my area in the east stands.

There was clearly less people there yesterday than last week, whatever that means in terms of attendence. Heacock lost a lot of believers after that disastrous 2004 season (which shall never be mentioned again), but slowly and surely they are coming back after back-to-back Gateway championships. I was just happy to be a part of playoff football in Youngstown in my tenure as a student at YSU.

1) The Redbirds had a shot in one but lost to a better team. We couldn't stop you on many 3rd and long plays, and a team doesn't deserve to win if they're allowing 14 yards on 3rd and 12 plays nor throwing 4 INTs. Our QB has just struggled mightily against quality competition the last half of the season-pretty much since the 1st YSU game. Mason is sure a beat. Seems like most of his carries went for 6+ yards.

2) Met some very nice YSU fans from the area. Was nice to talk to them before and after the game. It was also nice to see the bands playing together after. I wish I could say the same about the YSU students. I don't know if it was the alcohol or whatever, but to have students run up to me after the game and tell me to "Go @#$% myself" and that "I @#$%ing suck", etc is unacceptable. I know that happens at a lot of schools, but usually "fans" don't run up to you and say that to you after the game.

Ya you can blame the NCAA for having the students on the 50 yard line and being so damn close to the opposing team and their fans. I think after all this happens.. You will be seeing the students next to the band next year, as far away from the visitors as possible!

I thought it was a horrible call- but we will take it-this year it seemed like we were also victims to many horrible calls-sadly most of them were at home.It seemed to me that for the most part every bit of luck seemed to go against the birds that day(e.g. the int that we grabbed for a td)I know we had a bit of bad luck too but most of it went to the birds.

I sat in the east stands and was far from the play but my initial thought when the play happened was PI on YSU.

In person, I thought I saw a push off and was certain it was PI on ISU.

However, I watched the game on TV and it didn't look as bad as in person. Didn't ISU score on that drive anyways? I'm not sure.
