Savvy was announced as the new Blackhawks head coach earlier in the week and the Hawks answered with a 2-1 win over Dallas and lead St Louis 2-0 in the 1st tonight. This is VERY exciting to me, Savvy was my childhood idol when it comes to hockey....He spent 13 of his 17 seasons with the Hawks, Coached here since 1997, and is 1 of 5 retired Blackhawk Numbers. I remember that night, a 1-0 win over Montreal (the team which Savvy won his Stanley Cup). As the HUGE #18 was raised right in front of my eyes, All I could do was stand there, cheer, clap, and cry. I was over run with SO MANY emotions that night. He is such a class act, a great ambassador for the NHL, and a treat to have as the Blackhawks Head Coach...Maybe this is the move that revives Chicago Blackhawk Hockey back to the old days!!
