A stifling defensive effort and a career night from junior running back Javon White (Telford, Pa.) led No. 6 Villanova (1-1) to a 14-7 victory over No. 16 Fordham (1-1) at a wet and rainy Jack Coffey Field on Saturday night. Steady rain played a part in preventing either team from scoring in the second half and the Wildcats limited the Rams to just 182 yards of total offense in the victory. White led Villanova offensively with a breakthrough performance of 143 rushing yards on 23 carries.
