Eastern Illinois junior linebacker Seth McDonald was named the Ohio Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Monday after EIU opened the season last Thursday at Western Illinois.***McDonald led EIU with 17 tackles including 12 solo as the Panthers opened against their in-state rival.* The junior, making his second career start, added two tackles for loss while forcing and recovering a fumble that stopped a WIU drive at the 1-yard line.* The 17 tackles by McDonald lead the FCS this season with his 12 solo tackles ranking second in the nation.
