How many students (roughly) show up at your school for home games? Last night Liberty had over 7600 and set a record. So I was curious how that measures up.

I don't know if it "sold out" yesterday, but our student sections looked at least 80% full, which is up to 8k. We've had 8k sold out in the past.
Now that's the home opener with great weather. Many doe-eyed freshman that'll show up once and half of them will not come back again for the rest of their time at JMU.
Typical games later in the season is probably at least 2k, up to 5k on a great day that isn't one of several consecutive weeks of games.
If the weather is even threatening, or cold... Forget it. 500 students at best.
Finally, the weeks before and after thanksgiving, no one is bothering to spit on momma's face and leave her early and most of their friends aren't back either. 500 at best, even on a beautiful day.
Many students leave due to poor cell phone signal or their phone dying. It's just the reality of today's youth. They want to have their phone in their face the entire time.

Surprisingly, the UD student section was sold out and there was a ton of overflow students sitting in the stands. I've never seen that many students show up for a game, I was quite impressed. I'll be more impressed if 1/2 of them show up again next week after what they watched on the field.

Besides those athletes who are off playing their sports and a few on Guard duty….all of them show up.

Roughly 500 (call themselves the purple haze) located right behind the visitor team. They bring their axe handles and smash the railing making a lovely sound for all to hear.

Nova got about 38 or 39 for our playoff match-up last year! That was something special.

3,500 seats are reserved for students this year. I'm not sure how many we had In years past but this I think is a bit more. It will be interesting to see how full it is for the games this year. The student usually starts full but by 3 quarter half remains on a good night. Also, if weather is bad students don't show up, similar to what the JMU fans said earlier.

I thought I read Montana State sold out its 4100 student tickets in 2 hours this week. I'm sure more found their way in.

At Western Carolina, there is three sections reserved for WCU students, each section seats 1366, all three were full at the Mars Hill game (that's approx 4100 students).

I've attended LU home games and the turn-out and enthusiasm are impressive. Somehow, they manage the enthusiasm without large amounts of alcohol.

Isn't football attendance mandatory for LU students?

Isn't football attendance mandatory for LU students?

I think they have 13,000+ on Campus, so maybe not. Let them inform us though.

That's a big NO! and there are other events on campus at the same time. Good try though.

I can independently verify Knuckleheads big NO. I've attended two Saturday snowboard competitions up at the Snowflex center looking down at Williams Stadium during a home game. There were hundreds of Liberty kids watching and participating in the snowboard competition and no one tried to round them up and make them go to the football game.

If you really want to have a better understanding of Liberty's goals for football, check out this NY Times Article:

It may help dispel some rumors

NDSU's student section is usually 4k strong, early games could probably pack more in but the demand wanes a bit towards seasons end.

How many undergrads enrolled total? How far is the Fargo Dome from campus?

Student section was filled to capacity, they then overflowed by probably another 1,000+ into the stands. It was an amazing turnout for them.

Maybe football attendance counts as the chapel requirement?
