Fordham
September 4th, 2015, 11:43 AM
On my way up to West Point. Who'll be watching? It will be interesting to see how well all of our new faces handle their first college playing experience. That's the biggest thing to me - are we composed of not? Some other things to look for:

*can we get the ball to Edmonds in space?
*can QB Anderson extend drives with his legs?
*does our interior DL stuff the run well enough to keep them from running downhill on us like last year?
*is 2013 PL DPOY Stephen Hodge back to 100%?

If the answer is negative for most of those, we're screwed IMO. If positive, insert a picture of "... so you're sayin' there's a chance" here.

Go Rams! Great to have football back!

Good luck tonight. Already set up to watch Rams and Lehigh starting at 7PM. IMO Edmonds will get his yards. Can Rams D stand up thru the 4TH quarter?

I would like to play Fordham or VMI/Citadel every other year. Nice to see Fordham resurrect its program to historic success. Your glory years in the 1930's are remarkable reading.

Exciting game. Sure wish that Rabbits could get a game with any of the service academies. Think Jacks could get a W vs any of those. Fordham's wearing down in 4th. would not be surprised to see Rams pull this game.

Army played South Dakota in 1929 and won 33-6. Army beat North Dakota 33-6 in 1930. Army beat North Dakota State 52-0 in 1932. Otherwise, Army hasn't played the Dakota schools in any other football contests.

Send in an application. We need to beat you so we can be 1-0 against all Dakota schools.

This is embarrassing. We beat Fordham last year, so I expected to win.

Yes, I know Fordham is very good, but FBS and FCS are different plains.

I did predict that Army will beat PSU and Rutgers and lose to Fordham and Bucknell.

Question for Fordham fans: Does Fordham have any plans to move up?

Two years in a row, we have lost to FCS schools.

Losing to Yale and Fordham was acceptable in the 1930's.

Good game Fordham. You have won the honors of battle.

Army does not lack for talent but the coaching staff really struggles to know what to do with it. Too many bench mistakes.

Georgetown's problem is talent, not coaching.

Even before there was a Vincent Thomas Lombardi, there was a Lombardi Bowl. This priceless heirloom dates back to 1891 when what was once "St. John's College" travelled 50 miles up river to take on what was once known simply as "Army." The home team won that epic encounter and three more legendary battles over the following 123 years. But last night the Hudson tides turned and Fordham Rose Hill finally got a measure of revenge on Army West Point. The Lombardi Bowl now calls The Bronx home where the exquisite antique will hopefully stay for 123 years to come. Hail, Men of Fordham, Hail!

KPSUL
September 5th, 2015, 11:22 AM
Staying an FBS independent is the right move for Army. It gives them a lot of flexibility in scheduling. They need to continue playing the other two national service academies and there really is no reason they shouldn't be able to recruit and field a team that is on a par with Navy and AF. By being realistic about the FBS opponents they schedule averaging 50% wins per year is a reachable goal.

Only because you have posted dozens of comments disparaging the United States Military Academy, not just their football team, I think it only fair for you to provide the extent of your personal experience that makes you such an authority
on military leadership training and officer commissioning programs.

Even hudson high men will tell you it hasn't been tough there since the admission of the fairer sex. The State run military schools held out on that for two decades longer. They have an annual pillow fight in the barracks at west point but don't confuse that with the pillow biting that happens at vmi.
