Vanderbilt quarterback Bill Wade was picked with the No. 1 overall choice in 1952 by the Rams. He played 13 NFL seasons for the Rams and Bears, throwing for 18,530 yards and 124 TDs, and was named to the Pro Bowl in 1958 and '63.
