Portland State insider Scott Hood is reporting that Alex Kuresa has emerged from a four-way battle for the Portland State starting quarterback position. Kuresa will be starting September 5 against Washington State. Last year's starter, Kieren McDonogh will be the backup.

Kuresa comes to Portland State from Snow College in Utah. He is listed as a junior. He chose Snow College over BYU after returning from his Mormon mission for a chance to play quarterback somewhere.
