11. Carson Wentz enters his second season as the starting quarterback with big expectations. This comes on the heels of a fantastic first year as the starter, throwing 25 touchdowns and running for another six. Wentz set school records in completions, attempts and yards in his first year and the bar has been set even higher for 2015. He has been the talk of NFL Draft boards, was invited to an elite quarterback camp in Oregon this summer and been named a player to watch for the FCS highest award. His confidence is at an all-time high, I'm curious to see how that translates to the field in 2015 and what different traits he shows the nation this season.
Here is an exceprt from that drive.
http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2015/1/10/7525193/fcs-championship-game-2015-ndsu-isu-final-score-results
Down 27-23 with 95 seconds left, North Dakota State started with the ball just inside their own red zone after a penalty. On third and 10, Wentz found RJ Urzendowski in one-on-one coverage near the goal line. The true freshman made the adjustment and brought the ball in, giving the Bison the ball on the Redbirds' 5-yard line. Wentz broke through for the score, giving NDSU the lead and the eventual win.
Carson has a great chance to leave NDSU with the honor of being on 5 National Championship teams.
Good luck with the upcoming season and in the classroom Carson.
4 days until the four time defending National Champions the North Dakota State University Bison go to Missoula and beats the University of Montana Grizzlies.
Go Bison!
