Thirty-one practices is a long preseason schedule. Portland State started in helmets and shorts on Monday, added pads on Wednesday, and now look forward to their first formal scrimmage next Wednesday at 4 p.m. That will only be practice number 11. While the players may get weary, the coaches are grateful; twenty more chances for adjustments.
