Since the Furman pregame show is on the air, I figure it's time to start this thread.

Tidbits from the radio broadcast:
-a storm is dumping 8-12 in. of snow about 100 miles away from Bozeman...it "could" reach the area before the game is over
-Furman Jr. LB Gary Nelson sprained his knee in practice on Wednesday and didn't even make the trip. RS Fr. Philip Morris will make his first career start. :bang: Nelson had started all 11 games this season and 29 over the last three years.
-I missed the MSU injury update

I agree...Nelson is a hustler. Depsite being a bit undersized, he always seems to get to the ball.

I hope the snow holds off till late in the game...worried about our D backs stopping the pass on a slippery field.

Not to excuse the game, but JMU's farthest trip was maybe 300 miles (to Chattanooga) Trips to Lehigh, Furman and William and Mary and Chattanooga probably don't add up to the distance from Greenville to Bozeman.

Sure we've had to travel, it's cold, we might not get all the calls, playing in a hostile environment, and every sign seems to point to a lack of focus and mental toughness. Tired of hearing about our play calls, injuries, etc. Play dang football Furman. Show some toughness second half and go on the offensive. No TD's in the last 5 games second half? Someone take a little pride and get a bit of an attitude. This is re dang diculous. Sure I'd like to win, but I absolutely hate we we just show up with not intensity, and although I'm a long ways away, it sounds like we're intimidated, beaten, and down.

Once again, you've got to be impressed with MSU- they came out to play. Just give the bobcats a game the second half.

I was at the UC Davis game and very impressed by Davis. However, this isn't the same team that lined up against UC Davis.

Then you are a better sport than me....I never bad-mouth my team durng the regular season....doesn't do any good for a playerto look on one of these boards and see the fans knocking them....must of been a tough year for the GSU players on all the boards.....call me a homer if you want to....I'll wear that tag with pride....my bones are Furman purple through and through.

I'm not too familiar with MSU's players, but the starting QB and WRs are still in. So I would assume all starters are still playing.

Well, this will probably be my last post on here for a while. A few things:

1) The story of Furman's losses this year has been the snowball. We let things snowball in the beginning against UNC, couldn't come back. We let things snowball in the second half against App. We let things snowball in the 2nd quarter against MSU. You've got to be able to stop the bleeding.

2) MSU had a great offensive and defensive gameplan today. They would have beaten us anywhere with the way they're playing today. But....

3) Don't tell me this game wouldn't have been different in Greenville. We simply don't play poorly in Greenville. Everything about playing in Bozeman was working against us.

4) They've made several references on the radio during the fourth quarter to MSU players taunting Furman players. Come on, guys.

5) We are a talented team, but we're also plenty young. Our youth killed us in just about every game this season. We will be a much better team next year.

I don't have the stomach to linger on this board this week, so, everyone have a good week, and good luck in the playoffs!
