College football seems to be growing at all levels. Care to guess the total number of teams? I was shocked by the numbers in this informative article.

That's because the number of colleges and universities is at an all-time high. I imagine the percentage of schools with football teams is rather low compared to the pre-WWII era.

Total does not appear to include NJCAA football teams.
