Meanwhile...

Todd Frazier is off to the South Side of Chicago... in a trade that also involved the Dodgers.

Former Braves top prospect Jose Peraza flipped to Cincy in the deal.

Not often you see a top 30 prospect traded twice in six months.

Tigers sign Mike Aviles to a one year deal. Gives them a right handed utility player who can play both infield and left field. Nothing earth shattering here, but it does provide some flexibility next season.

Reports are that Braves are receiving calls on recently acquired OF Ender Inciarte. Some suggest they are receiving interest from more teams than they did on Shelby Miller (which reportedly over 20 teams).

As typical, the Braves are taking the position they are not looking to move the young, controllable OF. However, I imagine they will flip him if the price is right. Given the deal they struck to get Inciarte to Atlanta, I imagine the trade would have to heavily favor the Braves.

I will be surprised if Inciatre makes it to Orlando in a Braves uni... I feel another trade is eminent. At this point, why not? Load up.

I imagine the Braves would have to get a Shelby Miller-like offer to move him. Inciarte is a really good player, he's 25, controlled for the next five years, is a plus defender, and can man all three outfield positions. That is, he is exactly the type of player the Braves are looking to build around.

I personally don't think they'll move him. I think they are willing to move him, but the asking price is going to have to be pretty steep. Again, this would have to be a trade the Braves clearly win.

Aroldis Chapman is now off to the Bronx too, for 4 farmhands. Wow, can the Yankees become "Evil Empire" again? xchinscratchx

FYI: I'll create a 2016 MLB thread in the coming days.

So did the Dodgers withdraw their original offer? MLB is still investigating the incident. But it would seem that if he is cleared, the original trade would be binding. I honestly don't know, just curious.

It is a good question to which it is difficult to find an answer.

Trades are rarely finalized when the media picks up on the story. Some trades are held open for a long time (like player to be named later).

My inclination is that deals are finalized when they are submitted to the league, accepted, and then announced by both teams. It seems like that until that time, both teams have a period of "due diligence" where they can cancel the deal for whatever reason (physical, criminal investigation, that type thing).

Makes sense.
