2015 PRESEASON PAYTON AND BUCHANAN WATCH LISTS

PAYTON
RB Mikal Abdul-Saboor, William & Mary, Sr.- 249 carries, 1266 yards, 5.1ypc, 12 TD, 115.1 yds/gm, 14 catches, 115 yards, 8.2ypc in 11 games.

Is Abdul-Saboor THAT good? I'm not saying he's not...it's a real question. I haven't seen him play in college, but I Coached against him from the time he was about 10 years old thru HS and he always played QB in those, which he was not...always a much better Runner. I knew he was doing well up there and I've seen his name on other Preseason this or that lists, but I'm surprised (and glad) to see him at the top of a Payton Watch List. If you would, tell us (OK, maybe just me) more about his exploits so far, expectations for this year, and NFL prospects, etc. - THANKS!

Not a big time NFL prospect but he has a good player. Has a fairly good burst and finds the open holes pretty well. He is one of the best in the CAA for sure and just that alone makes you a candidate. He would be the best RB in the SoCon and I would say he is somewhere between 5-10 in the nation.

Abdul-Saboor has improved every year at W&M. Extremely hard worker. Has increased speed and lateral quickness, and is a very physical runner. Reads defense, shows great patience and finds seems and holes as well as anyone. Very good receiver. Keeps playing weight between 210-215 which seems to be optimum for him.
