That's good news. Glad to see em' get it back on track cuz that is a big loss to a school's feel as well as the community/fans.

Yes, I was pretty excited when I saw online that this was happening. 2016 would have been even better but I can understand with schedules, recruiting, etc.
I always feel bad when I hear about a school dropping football. Good thing that I don't live in Vermont, I would have been in a depression since 1974. MSU-Mankato dropped football for the 1976 season due to handing out scholarships that they didn't have. They had to drop out of the NCC and go back to the NIC (now NSIC). They played club football for awhile. Set things back at least ten years. It was awful.

Good news for UAB. At least they are not going to do a New Haven or ETSU or even worse, Chicago...

I actually watched Bethel of St. Paul, MN beat Chicago last fall since MSU-Mankato played a game on a Friday night. It was interesting to watch and think that the Maroon had at one time been in the Big Ten.

You are correct.

Speaking of the Maroons... their downfall began after Stagg left Hyde Park for Stockton, CA. The Maroons stopped football in 1938, and the Big Ten evicted them in 1946. They didn't restart football until the early 1960's, restarting as a club team in 1962, then returning to varsity in 1969.
What if all of the current club college football teams begin exploring varsity status?

Interview this morning with HC Bill Clark on Birmingham radio:

Very interesting to hear his comments about CUSA and the NCAA. Obviously no mold for UAB or anyone else to follow but all parties appear to be helping UAB figure out the move back into active FBS football in 2017.

I know what you mean, but I think PBJ took a pretty bad whipping in the public eye over this. I suspect him to crawl under his rock over the issue in the future. The UAT Board has some bigger issues to deal with as a result and that means a whole lot more scrutiny by the legislature into their makeup. I think they are more worried about that issue now than UAB playing some football.

Dont ever believe UAT or Auburn have issues in Montgomery. Jr can take care of any politician in Alabama.
As long as your name is Paul Bryant you will never look bad in an UAT fans eyes. Insurance fraud didnt keep him off the UABOT so shutting down UAB football is a cakewalk.
