Villanova football recruiting 2015: Hopewell Valley LB Drew Wiley commits

https://cdn2.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/ytGB1tjGsxEOgVzUquypkxJJu-k=/0x89:427x374/709x473/cdn0.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/36210274/14067740274_bfe9a43569_z.0.jpg

Drew Wiley becomes the seventh confirmed commitment for Villanova football's 2015 recruiting class after cancelling a visit to rivals Delaware.

Drew Wiley set his visit to Villanova up for this past Sunday. He pulled the trigger on Monday night (http://highschoolsports.nj.com/news/article/-2760530710900881239/hopewell-valley-linebacker-drew-wiley-commits-to-villanova/), telling the staff that he'd be a linebacker for the Wildcats. It should be a satisfying commitment for the Nova coaching staff, landing Wiley over their rivals at the University of Delaware -- though he also had offers from Delaware,Rhode Island, Central Connecticut, and Lehigh. He cancelled his planned visit to Delaware next month after deciding.

"I was at Villanova Sunday and everything just felt right," Wiley told NJ.com (http://highschoolsports.nj.com/news/article/-2760530710900881239/hopewell-valley-linebacker-drew-wiley-commits-to-villanova/). "Head coach Andy Talley gave me a tour of the campus. It made me really feel like Villanova wanted me to play there if the head coach gave me an hour and a half tour."
Recruitment isn't entirely over for the athletic linebacker, who also stated that if an FBS offer came along later in the process, that he would have to consider it, and talk it over with his dad. Barring that, however, expect Wiley to arrive on the Main Line next summer to help the 'Cats on defense.
The 6-2, 225-pounder recorded 69 tackles as a junior for Hopewell Valley, and also competed as a tight end, fullback, slot receiver and tailback for the team. Delaware was looking at him as an option at fullback.
He also played power forward for the school's basketball team.
As a football recruit, 247Sports lists him as an Inside Linebacker with a 2-star rating (http://247sports.com/Player/Drew-Wiley-36183), as does Rivals (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Andrew-Wiley-142254). Scout.com (http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Andrew-Wiley-142254), however, places Wiley's rating at 3-stars.
