View Full Version : ACC Championship?

Who will it be taking on Ga. Tech in the ACC Championship game Dec. 2nd in Jacksonville? The Deacs or Terps?

I hope Wake. The Deacons definitely need to play better than they did against the Hokies. Hopefully Coach Grobe will get on them in practice this week. If they can put 30 on the board against FSU, there is no reason they can't do it in College Park. Of course, the Terps are coming off a beatdown in Chestnutt Hill and they most likely will be fired up on Senior Day.
GO WAKE!!!

Tech will beat either IMO, but I'm pulling for the underdog Wake

Boston College 5-2 at Miami
Wake Forest 5-2 at Maryland
Maryland 5-2 vs Wake Forest

If Boston College wins and Maryland wins BC gets the division. If BC loses the winner of the WF/Maryland game gets it.

I say BC and Maryland win the games and BC gets the division.

All Wake has to do is win. They don't need BC to lose. Wake has the tiebreaker agianst BC.

No worse then you not even mentioning BC in your post as if there not even in the running.

Yes I know, thats why I said if BC wins and Maryland wins BC gets the division as opposed to saying if BC wins they get it, but I should have also said WF gets it with a win.

On that note I dont think WF is gonna win. :D

Sorry I left the Eagles out of the post. Wake hasn't won an ACC Championship in football for over 30 years. I'm just a little excited about the year they have had.

BC will win tomorrow knocking the Terps out. So the question should be BC or Wake... IMO BC.

I read in the Jacksonville paper (http://www.jacksonville.com/tu-online/stories/112206/col_6386639.shtml) that tickets to the ACC championship are not selling well and the Championship game may move after next year. Apparently there isn't a lot of interest since no Florida teams are in contention.

Not suprised. xcoffeex I think it should be played in Charlotte. Charlotte is smack dab in the middle of the ACC.

BC lost at Miami, so the winner of Wake Forest at Maryland goes to the championship game.
Should be a good game.

That's a good idea.
But we're talking about Div. I-A football, so it probably won't happen.

:o :o :o Somebody forgot to tell the Miami defense that they're not very good this year. BC had way too many possessions in the second half to lose that game. :nono:

I know being from the Midwest taints my views and gives me a huge bias. But I just can't stand ACC football. You guys are excellent at basketball, but football just isn't your thing. : smh :

This is probably the worst year of ACC football in maybe my lifetime. I never have understood why so many supposed App State fans have ANY interest in ACC football at all.

I agree that Charlotte or Atlanta would be a better choice. Unfortunately, the ACC doesn't want to play in the same building as the SEC and that rules Atlanta out. I guess the feeeling is that Jacksonville is warmer and more of a vacation destination, but, the game would probably draw much better in Charlotte.

Wake will beat Georgia Tech in the ACC Championship game. Tech has been sliding in recent weeks, while Wake has won some big games (besides the Virginia Tech loss). Imagine that, Wake at the Orange Bowl.

The ACC in football IS down this year, but you can't take anything away from what Wake has accomplished. They haven't won an ACC Championship in over 30 yrs. I think they have a shot against Ga. Tech.
GO DEACS!!!!

they're not down that much....they have 4 teams in the top 25 (with Maryland and Clemson not that far out). not near the SEC or Big 10, but still not terrible.

I'd like to see that. I'd also like to see Boise against Notre Dame or Florida.

I can't really call it...as impotent as Tech's O looked against UGA, they still have that D, which is comparable to Va. Tech's D. That D shut down Wake. However, they also have arguably the least productive 4-year starting QB in College Football history in Reggie Ball. So, who knows?

charlotte would be a great place to have the ACC champ. game. its a great city and its centrally located. (especially this year with GT and Wake in the final.)

I heard through the grapevine that Jacksonville is struggling to sell tickets for this game. I hope the city of Jacksonville losses it and it comes to Charlotte. They should just stick to the the Gator Bowl.

On top of that...there really isn't that much to do in Jax proper...you need to go out to Atlantic or Jax Beach to find any decent bars. Charlotte has great nightlife, and a beautiful stadium. As a Falcons fan, I am jealous of BofA Stadium... :bang:
