Bison great, the late Stacy Robinson wore #81 for the New York Giants and helped the team win Super Bowl XXI and XXV.

Robinson was a standout for the 1983 national championship Bison, scoring the first TD in a 41-21 victory over Central State (OH) in that season's national championship game. He earned 3rd Team All-American and 1st Team All-NCC honors in 1984 and lead the Bison in receiving in 1982, 83 and 84. After a standout career at NDSU, he was a 2nd round draft pick (46th overall) of the NY Giants in the 1985 NFL Draft.

A favorite target of Phil Simms, he had a team-high 62 yards receiving on three catches in a 39-20 win over the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXI. One of his most memorable games came during that first Super Bowl season, as he caught 5 passes for 116 yards and a TD in a come-from-behind win over the San Francisco 49ers.

After his playing days were over, Robinson had a distinguished career serving in key roles for the NFL Players Association. He also served his alma mater as a member of the NDSU Alumni Association Board of Directors.

81. There have been some impressive rushing performances in NDSU history, but one in recent memory that stood out was in 2007 and Tyler Roehl's dominant game against Illinois State. The former West Fargo standout had an unreal game, including an 81 yard touchdown run that was sensational. Roehl ran for 257 yards and four touchdowns in a 54-28 win. It was part of an unreal season for Roehl that saw him set the school record for rushing yards in a game against Minnesota. Roehl finished that year with 21 touchdowns and over 14 hundred rushing yards. Roehl now is the running backs and tight ends coach for NDSU, and still has bragging rights about that game against the Gophers.
