82. The best news NDSU got this offseason came one day after the national championship. That's when wide receiver Zach Vraa made the announcement that he was coming back for a sixth season. Vraa got the extra year after missing most of 2011 with another broken collarbone, an injury that plagued him his first two years in Fargo. Vraa became a star in 2013, setting school records for receiving yards (1191) and touchdowns (15). Most fans were expecting the same in 2014, but Vraa and Carson Wentz didn't connect for their first touchdown until the Indiana State game. His season was derailed by two injuries, a foot injury against Western Illinois and a hamstring pull against SDSU in the playoffs. Vraa did all he could to get back on the field for the national championship game and he did play, he finished the season with 42 catches for 637 yards and four touchdowns. His experience is huge in an area where NDSU doesn't have a lot. The Bison lost three wide receviers this offseason (Carey Woods, DeSean Warren and Dee Gray all left the team) leaving major reps to younger guys like Tyler Wrice, Khayvon Hawkins and Darrius Shepherd. A healthy and inspired Vraa could be as dangerous as the 2013 version that terrified defenses, he'll also become the school's receiving leader with 14 more catches.
Zach has the chance to be part of a 5th National Championship team this year for NDSU.
