86. The countdown will stay focused on a tight end for the second straight day. 86 is the number that Lidgerwood's Jeff Illies wears, a player that could be ready for a breakout season. Illies had flashes last year, his touchdown catch against Incarnate Word was impressive, he also made a catch against Indiana State where he refused to go down. His performance in the spring game certainly raised his profile as well, you can watch a profile we did on him here (http://www.wday.com/sports/3732470-lidgerwoods-jeff-illies-ready-have-bigger-role-bison-offense). He finished with seven receptions for 56 yards in 2014 and I can see those numbers multiplying three-fold. Illies knows he has to add more weight between now and late August, but he has the frame to be special and if he can improve his blocking, that's another weapon for Tim Polasek to utilize.
