Thought I would leave this here. I still love the FCS. Best football in the world to me really. Miss the playoffs, but at GS we are moving on up quite nicely. Hope our winning ways can continue. Who is going to beat ND State this year?

I get a feeling this might be Fritz's last year at GSo if he can win over 8.

Let's not get carried away.....winning 8 games against the weak sisters in the slum belch is like going undefeated in Pioneer or SWAC conference play...

Good luck this year to GSU and App. I was one of the guys that said you'd move into that conference and rule it right from the beginning...hell most here said that actually.

They must have edited out the part in bold italics from the 2nd paragraph of the posted story...
After winning six Division I-AA championships (most recently in 2000, 13 seasons before) and finishing tied for next-to-next-to-last place in the SoCon in 2013, the Eagles finally made the move up [Ed. Note - dele "up"] to the FBS in '14...

I felt like Georgia Southern faded a little down the stretch last year. I wonder if the Sun Belt coaches were getting a better feel for defending their offense as the season progressed.

While GSU had some great teams, I think one of the major advantages of that offense is that teams do not regularly see it, and have to prepare in a week's time.
Were I a SunBelt coach, I would be on the phone to Bruce Fowler, Bobby Lamb, and Mike Ayers asking "what did you guys do to prepare for this." As I have said before, I would be shocked if there is a team that has seen the option more in D1 football than Furman.

I think you are underestimating GSU. Yes, it's true the triple option is hard to prepare for but GSU isn't really running that anymore(they do have some aspects of it still). The problem is the SunBelt is a terrible league. Give the top 4 FCS leagues more scholarships they would surpass it. Hell, the SunBelt wouldn't even be the top 2 league in the FCS most years even with more scholarships.
