The move would take effect immediately for the fall 2015 sports. This leaves the A-Sun in a bad place (and they already were in a bad place). Could this lead Kennesaw St. and Jacksonville to bolt for the Big South? Kennesaw's already in for FB only.

ASun looks like it may soon be the latest casualty in the conference carousel. For a conference like the ASun, it is hard to lose schools as there is often no easy replacement.

Football has been discussed on and off for the last decade about the Norse (love that nickname), mostly off.

They have a lot of sports and seem like they certainly could support a football team, even a non-scholarship PFL one, if they so choose. Question is if any league would be interested in FB-only.

There's also the impact of this move on the A-Sun:

Also worrying for the A-Sun is that UAB may be restarting football. A-Sun was seen as a landing place for the Blazers without FB.

I would like to see the ASUN take on North Alabama and their football joins the Big South.

Either that or maybe the ASUN could look into football.

The A-Sun has some commuter schools where football will never be feasible and two Pioneer teams. It is hard to see how the A-Sun would ever be able to field 6 football members.

I doubt Kennesaw would leave for the Big South anytime soon. In the current A-Sun, each team has a 1-in-7 chance of making the post-season in almost all sports. Those odds would go down in a larger conference. I also have questions about whether or not KSU plans to stay FCS for long.
