The biggest problem with college basketball is the atrocious officiating. The NBA fixed their game a few years back and now it is better then it has been in a while. In college refs just take over games, it can be brutal to watch. Cutting the shot clock or widening the lane will do nothing to fix the game. Step one is the officiating.

The few NBA games I've attended seemed to be mostly 3 or 4 players standing around while the other 1 or 2 actually move around the court. I have noticed the pace in college is slower and fast breaks seem to be rare.
