NDSU has been a member of the Western Wrestling Conference since moving up to Division I in 2007. The Bison have won the last two conference titles and for the first time had two All-Americans in the same year. Hayden Zillmer and Kurtis Julson placed sixth and eighth at the NCAA Championships.
Iowa State, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma and West Virginia are the four members of the Big 12 in wrestling.
This will allow the Big 12 to regain their automatic qualifier status as Wyoming, Northern Colorado, Air Force, and Utah Valley are also joining the conference for wrestling next year.
