Most people probably haven't heard of St. Olaf (Northfield, MN- where Jesse James was defeated by the townspeople). They share the town with Carlton College.

Isn't Rose Nyland from there? :D

In the show they talk about the town of St. Olaf rather than the college. And they mention St. Gustaf University, which must be a reference to Gustavus Adolphus. Both of those schools are in southern Minnesota- the town was supposed to be up north. The writers for that show must have come from the Twin Cities.
