If you were observing games over the years and noticed different trends in college basketball that are inexplicably different from the NBA and European leagues, this might explain why.

The time-out thing will never change for the better. As long as our economy depends on selling beer, cars and Viagra, there will be the 8 media stoppages. We are lucky there aren't more.

Part of what makes college basketball great is when team A plays 34 seconds of great defense and then team B takes a one-handed toss from 40 feet and the ball goes in the basket. No skill. Just luck. But 3 points.

I say go back to the Lew Alcindor days. No dunks. No 3 pointers. I bet shooting would improve as teams would actually try to get good makeable shots. Of course there would be less excitement and the TV people would never go for it. And ESPN would have to cancel the Top Ten Plays of the Day. What skill is involved when a 6'10" guy dunks?

No dunks and 3s, great idea if you want to put the final nail in CBB's coffin.

Cut the shot clock, widen the lane, do things like say if a team calls a timeout within a minute of the media timeout then that is the media timeout.

Most of all get rid of the idiotic timeout teams get when a player fouls out. A team should not be rewarded with a timeout because their player fouls out. Just slows down the last few minutes even more.

Getting rid of the 3 point line would not make people take better shots, back in the day people took shots from that distance. Besides good ball movement will lead to good shots.
Only thing I hate is the foul fest at the end of games.
