The nation's first and oldest collegiate wrestling tournament opens this Friday at 9 a.m. in Lehigh's Stabler Arena hosting the sixteen schools of the EIWA. Pre-seed rankings have Cornell scoring the title 113-97 over Lehigh, but there are sufficient opportunities for the Brown to slide in first. Army, Navy, Penn and Bucknell all have some quality wrestlers who could break open a bracket to create a mad scramble. Tournament covers two days with Finals set for 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 7.

After day one, Cornell leads Lehigh 93-88 with both teams far and away the cream of the crop. Cornell has 8 in the semi-finals while Lehigh has 7. Both teams have all 10 wrestlers alive with the balance in consolations. Only real upset was Lehigh's Minotti losing 3-2 at 157 in the quarterfinals. However, he got kicked in the mouth resulting in either the loss and/or severely loosened teeth. Dealing with a gerrmandered mouthpiece, he came back and won his first consolation. There will be three face to face bouts between Cornell and Lehigh wrestlers in the semis which could well determine the outcome of the team title. Finals will begin about 5:30 p.m. There is a four way race for third among Bucknell, Columbia, Penn, and American.
Semi-Finals begin at 10 a.m. EDT. All matches are being streamed live on Flo Wrestling.com which can also be accessed through the EIWA website.
