was watching a game on TV the other day and saw something I'd never seen before: ref whistled a player for a penalty, then the refs huddled up and conferred, and decided to wave off the penalty. Happens in football fairly often, but I'd never seen it in hockey (nor had any of the TV commentators).

and a little bit later, one of the goalies got his catching glove knocked off his hand, and had to play for a minute or two barehanded. Luckily didn't have to face any shots during that time.

Watched that wave-off also. Pretty sure it was the first time I have ever seen that. It was interesting that both benches seemed to accept the refs conferring. Might see more of that in the future is my guess. Been a pretty good year so far proven by the fact that the Boston Bruins fans are bitching about their own team as much as they whine about their big brother up north.
