While I respect Dean Smith and all that he accomplished '89-'90 and '90-'91 UNLV is what helped to really draw me to college basketball. The 1990 NCAA tournament remains the most memorable one of my life because of the Rebs dominance and the Loyola-Marymount story.
There will never be a starting five in college bball that plays at that level with THAT style. IMO, those UNLV teams changed college basketball more than the Fab 5. They brought the hip-hop culture to the game. No team in the history of college basketball played with more swagger than the '89-'90/'90-'91 UNLV team imo. They were also one of, if not the first, team to move away from the "short shorts".
