Kinda surprised Williams from UNI didn't get an invite unless DT is deep this year at the FBS level?

Agreed. I thought he was in the mix. What does that mean for Xavier?

I am really excited for Ross. I wonder what his numbers will be. He obviously has great speed, so the 40 will be where he makes or breaks but I have always been impressed with his weight room too. With all the passes he caught this year maybe someone picks him up in that slot type role.

He will need to run very well at pro day to get drafted.

Agreed.

A little disappointed that Jacob Hagen didn't get an invite as well.

I didn't expect him to but he is one of my top 5 FCS players not invited, which means he is in high consideration to get drafted. I think he could go in the 6th or 7th round.

What percentage of NFL Combine invitees are drafted?

Roughly 2/3. Between 30-40 draft picks don't go to the combine and with 325 invited this year, instead of 330 like usual, it would not shock me if we saw closer to 35-40 combine snubs drafted.

Scheuerman is listed as a RB, but he probably won't play that role in the NFL... more of a slot prospect, based on a few published accounts.

I would say Varga and Nick Easton are. They are the two best prospects in the Ivy, or at least will prove to be the two best when we look back in few years.

Depends on which NFL team you talk to. Real shot he is drafted or signed as a RB or WR. Just remember that there are 32 draft boards which matter and none of them are seen by the public. Many times the media and draftniks guess and are right but they are often wrong as well. I have Ross rated as a RB but I do know some teams who have him as a WR.

I think draftscout moved him to WR because he's a white RB and most people think white RBs get moved because of perceived racism by some (same with white corners in the NFL). There are starting to be some white RBs in the NFL now though. Most draft websites just copy NFL Draft Scout. If you see them move him back to RB you will see 90% of the other websites move him back as well.

David Johnson had a "disappointing" showing for the bench, finished with 25 reps (he is someone who has plenty of videos showing 28-34 reps...must have had a couple not count) but still tied with Zach Zenner for 5th. Official "jumps" results have been updated but DJ tweeted that he went 41.5 in the vertical, 10'7 in the broad jump.

The big thing for him is that he ran 4.50 twice (unofficially) in the 40 which was good for 4th. That's huge. Through 2 events he's been in the Top 5. I'm interested to see how the jumps stacked up. Not sure about where he'll be in the on-field shuttles but I think the 40 was the biggest concern coming into the combine and he killed it.

Tre McBride had a good day for the Tribe. Looked good on routes and catches. 40 time answered speed questions. Now being projected late second or third round.

40- 4.41 6th among WRs
20 shuttle- 4.08 5th among WRs.
Vert- 38 in.
Broad- 10'2"
Bench- 16 reps

He was a 3rd rounder coming in and just confirmed that. Not putting up these numbers may have seen him slide some. Johnson is very highly regarded by many in the NFL. There are some who have late round grades on him but there are also some who have him in the late 2nd to mid 3rd round. I think it is fair to say he goes in the 3rd round for sure.

Just like with David Johnson, people expected a good workout from McBride. This workout isn't a huge money maker but it certainly confirms what people saw. If he had put up a 41 VJ, 10'9 BJ, and a 4.38 40 I could have seen someone jumping on him in the 4th round for sure. I had him as a 6th round grade, mainly because he goes silent at times and times a little faster than he plays. He makes crazy catches though and has shown he can do well against good players. Would think he is a solid 5th rounder with a shot late in the 4th round.

Now I think Tull did make a little money. People expected good workouts but more like a 38-39 VJ, 10'5-'10'7 BJ, and a 4.60 40. Looks like he would run a 4.55 or possibly better. With his first step it would not shock me if he had a 1.52 10-yard and 4.53-4.55 40 at all. His lack of length hurts a little because I think if he had 33 inch arms he would be a 3rd round pick, at the latest. I was thinking 6th round during the fall but after seeing his Shrine Game practice tape and this workout I think someone will jump up and take him in the 4th-5th round.

Lott has been solid in workouts. I think his off field concerns are the only reason why he doesn't get drafted. He is a draftable talent but I do know some people who don't like him at all. Seems like with my scouting buddies I have been higher on him than most. I have a 6th-7th round value grade on him but I know he likely goes undrafted.

No question Tull not only gets drafted but is gone by the end of the 5th round.

Bryan Bennett had a good combine and definitely helped himself, as most of us around here knew he would. He's taken a lot of flack this year but battled injuries all season long while adjusting to a new OC. He's still not a 100% but put up good workout numbers and threw the ball very well.

I think he may get drafted. He is a PFA grade by most teams but with this QB class I could see 6th or 7th round. Knowing he was hurt did give him some benefit of the doubt. He is my #1 rated small school QB but he does need to improve his completion percentage. That's a number that has to get better. This is a bad class and he is one of the few who can run really well. It will be interesting to see if any QBs not at the combine step up and really show out at pro day.

It will be interesting to see how many RB coaches go to his pro day. If he has a few I have to wonder if someone will take him in the late 2nd or top of the 3rd.

The completion percentage is easily explainable. He had postseason thumb surgery after the 2013 season and a shoulder injury in 2014, to go along with a foot injury which severely hampered him down the stretch. On top of that, we broke in a new offensive coordinator and took a lot more shots down field than in 2013 ... we were also banged up in the middle of our offensive line and running back. I've watched him just about every day for two years and I know several NFL scouts ... he will be drafted and make an NFL roster.

BTW, we just hired former Saints coach and Rams DC, Blake Williams (son of Gregg), as Defensive Coordinator.

And that brings up the durability issues. The medical exams will be key for him. In this awful QB class he probably will get drafted and I could see him making a practice squad but I don't see him as more than a fringe roster guy for 2-3 years.

A lot of scouts I have talked to have been varied in their opinions of Bennett and other quarterbacks this year. I also know someone who dealt with him a lot in high school and has been pushing him to me for the longest time. He did not play well in the Senior Bowl so he will need a good pro day to make 100% sure he gets drafted. His combine workouts were solid and helped but he still has to have a good workout and his medical results needs to come back good as well.

Teams have on beer goggles this year when it comes to these QBs. None of them after the top 6-8 are any good at all and only about 4-5 will have a decent career so now teams are looking even harder for players. There are going to be some awful quarterbacks drafted late and given contracts. This is the worst QB class ever, from top all the way down to the bottom.
