The 123rd playing of The Game -- the annual football matchup between Harvard and Yale -- is an official sellout. The last remaining tickets to one of college football's greatest rivalries were sold Wednesday afternoon.
There will be no tickets available for purchase Thursday, Friday or Saturday.

Wanted to mention that "The Game" is mentioned in my latest column (http://www.i-aa.org/article.asp?articleid=82220) on I-AA.org:
If you want a true, pure college football rivalry with titles on the line, you can’t do much better than Harvard/Yale.

That's great! That's one of those games you should put on your "Must See Before I Die" list. Unfortunately, a lot of games like that are this weekend because of this being "Rivalry Week"

30,898 to be precise!;)
When they had the old end zone bleachers, the capacity was about 41,000.

When they had the old end zone bleachers, the capacity was about 41,000.
And when The Stadium had the temporary steel stands in the north end zone in the '50s, the capacity was over 57,000.
Even with that capacity, THE GAME on Saturday would still be a sellout....

Are those the wooden bleachers they had in the closed end of the stadium. I sat there in 1984 which was also the first Y-H game for my wife. You couldn't see much from there if the action was at the other end of the field.
On a side note we would always stop in Sturbridge and have dinner at the Publik House on the way back to CT. Even ran into Cozza there a couple of times after the game.

I remember the metal bleachers under the scoreboard. There were also additional metal bleachers surrounding the playing field, as seen in this picture. (http://www.bpl.org/sportstemples/images/harvard_lg.jpg) Of course my first Yale/Harvard game at Harvard Stadium wasn't until 1988.

1988 was the last Y-H game I attended in Boston. Hopefully, I will make it back there in the future.

They had metal bleachers in the north end zone and other bleachers around the wall of the horseshoe for H-Y in the 70s. I don't remember seeing them at any other game. There was a time not too long ago that H-Y attendance dropped sharply. The '97 Game in New Haven drew only 26,000 or so, as I recall (Siedlecki's first year, when Yale had a poor record and the weather sucked). The Game in Cambridge drew only about 25,000 in the mid-90s. Good to see the crowds are back up.

the bigger question here is whether or not Harvard will be the 6th team this year to gain 500 or yards on Yale
