Mountain Hawks beat Navy 30-6 on Saturday night and 22 hours later hammered Maryland in the Terp's "shell" 35-3. Lehigh took nine out of ten bouts today against Maryland, the only loss being ä slight upset of Beckman at 133 by Alexander, 2-1. Beckman has been wrestling much to close to the vest of late and got bit in the butt by a reversal with ten seconds left. Lehigh got falls from Cruz at 141 and Martinez at 174 and a tech fall from Brown at 184. Lehigh now 10-3 on season has two weeks off until January 24 & 25 when they host F&M and #6 Cornell in "The Snake Pit".

Yup. I made it out to College Park. Not much of a contest. The referee was absolutely terrible. He kept UMD in the match with Navy. I can't complain about his terribleness in our match though, because it lead to a 12 pt swing in Lehigh's favor. Cruz was pinned a few minutes before rolls were reversed and he pinned his opponent. Nothing like cautioning one team for stalling in ever bout while the other team's wrestlers are constantly running off the mat.

Yes, I heard the Cruz match was 'close' and the same complaints about the stall warnings on our guys who were doing most of the shooting. It is the one rule in the sport that drives me, and many others, bonkers on how it is applied. Big One coming up in 10 days! Grace will be rocking. Only SRO tickets left from what I heard.
