UCA is pulling a Bizonny...those Frozen Tundra Herds (F'n Terds, for short :D - you can thank me later, UND fans) have cornered the market on denying transfers, as long as they are not from non-FBS schools.

I'm not a fan of the Juco guys or the short term transfers... this is not the way to build a program. But sometimes it is a quick fix teams are looking for.

Man don't come on the ILS board with that kind of crazy talk, you will get crucified. 2-3 years we had 20+ FBS "down" transfers on the roster.

This year there are 5. And all 5 are impact players. Coincidence the correlation with the W-L record?

I'm thrilled with the about face Spack has done on transfers vs recruiting.

There were posters on our board upset last spring with the signing of a big class full of 2 and 3 star players because it didn't leave room for a bunch of kids that get kicked out of school in the B10 and MAC.

If the current trend continues we will be loaded with talent and deep at about every position.

I say fill your needs with your best opportunity. I've seen big recruits not pan out and I've seen nobodys be superstars. Nothing says a HS player won't do what a FBS xfer did to get kicked off a team.

They will need a coaching change, and don't expect that. Their philosophy has always been no transfers. They prefer to recruit kids who want to go to UNH, not kids transferring from other schools. I prefer the no transfer policy because it ensure that your players are more loyal and are earning their spots.

UCA had:

A coaching change that gave them a coach that was just inducted into the Junior College football hall of fame. Guy wins like 80+% of his games and has 3 nattys under his belt.

He apparently also has connections at many schools where he apparently was a reference for those good athletes who either couldn't make the grade at their "big" college or just needed more remediation before coming to "big" college. But either way, their attendance at a JUCO or CC doesn't indicate their ability to play or not. I thought since he was a Mississippi/Louisiana/gulf coast guy that we would see an influx of kids from that area. But he's getting them from Kansas and Oklahoma. I wonder what connections he had or has up there.

Like I said, Crimp Crunk took a few C.C. transfers and maybe 4 or 5 FBS players but this guy I guess has that community college mindset. We'll see how it works out.

Pickren may become an All-World TE at Chatt...but in 2014, he never started a game, only played in 6 games, and was listed as the 3rd Team RT behind Hayden Naumann and Bryant Novick (whom one Chatt news dude implied was not good enough to play @ Chatt) in all of UAB's game notes from 2014. UPDATE/CORRECTION: Pickren did start 2 games at TE for UAB in 2013 and played in 9. Also, UAB had 6 TE's listed on their 2014 roster, whatever that may mean.

Have seen the Chatt news guys/coaches proclaiming him as the 'missing piece for Chatt's National Championship'...and he may well be...but I just like to make sure the facts are 'out there.'

Best of luck to this young man and all of those Blazers that had their hearts broken by the dismantling of their program!

Sounds like he was part of a 2 QB system in JUCO, so he knows how to run a stupid system. He was 97-176 for 1,118 yards with 14 TD and 3 INT

Makes sense considering he weighs 255. All I saw was that he will compete for the TE job.

North Carolina Central opened up some Christmas presents early.

Linebacker Jacquae Peart (Dean College/Sebring High School), safety Josiah Dailey (College of DuPage/Bloom High School), wide receiver Khalil Stinson (Arizona Western College/Westlake High School), and offensive lineman Tyler Brooks (Iowa Western Community College/Muscatine High School) are all expected to enroll at NCCU for the spring 2015 semester, according to Mack.

"Each of these young men possess a specific skill set that will address a specific need," said Mack, who just completed his first season as a college football head coach.

Peart (6-0, 230) earned Northeast Football All-Conference Second-Team honors as a linebacker in 2014 after recording 64 tackles with 10.5 hits for a loss at Dean College, located in Franklin, Massachusetts. While at Sebring (Fla.) High School, the senior defensive captain amassed a team-high 92 tackles with 13 hits for a loss, two sacks and two forced fumbles, and was named the Highlands Today 2013 All-Highlands Defensive Football Player of the Year.

Dailey (6-2, 215) collected 71 tackles, 4.0 hits for a loss, five pass break-ups, four forced fumbles and an interception in two seasons at College of DuPage, located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He graduated from Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, Illinois, in 2013.

Stinson (6-3, 210) topped Arizona Western with eight touchdown passes and was second on the squad with 29 receptions for 388 yards during the 2014 season. As a freshman at Northeast Mississippi Community College in 2013, he led the team with 18 catches and 349 receiving yards with three touchdowns to garner Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges All-North Division second team recognition. While at Westlake High School in Atlanta, Stinson tallied 137 career receptions for 1,963 yards and 27 touchdowns, twice earning first team all-region honors.

Brooks (6-3, 295), a two-year starting offensive lineman for an Iowa Western program that won the NJCAA national title in 2013 and was national runner-up in 2014, allowed just 1.5 sacks in those two seasons. Iowa Western completed the 2014 campaign by averaging 44.2 points per game and posting an 11-1 record. Brooks graduated from Muscatine (Iowa) High School in 2013.

Mack feels the ability for these student-athletes to enroll at NCCU in January provides a huge advantage. "Anytime you can get guys to come to your university and into the football program eight months before the first game, it helps them to be able to contribute right away," the head coach said.

Sycamores will be adding Ball State TE Calvin Blank (6'5", 240 lbs) to the list. We originally recruited him (from Terre Haute) in 2013 but he had offers from most of the good MAC teams (Ball State, Toledo, BGSU and NIU) and a PWO from Mizzou if I remember correctly. Will have 3 years of eligibility left.
