Thought this was a nice article in the Greenville News about Furman's mascot (Sir Paladin) and his means of conveyance around the football stadium (Fury).

Never thought about it much, but Furman has one of the more unique mascots in college football. Never stood around in 50 pounds of plate armor before during a hot football game, but he appears to enjoy the experience.

Albany has Damien the Dane, His Lady, and Lil' D (the baby Dane). Only school in the country, at any level with a Great Dane as a Mascot. Damien likes to protect his pack, as you can see in the video below (Wolfie was talking some smack). He also likes to flirt with the ladies, as noted in the photos. No word how Lady Damien feels about this...

I haven't wanted to verify this, but I read on the uffp that Blazejowski broke his ankle playing pick up basket ball or something and will miss spring practice. Not sure I got this right cuz I turned the computer off and had a drink

Same with the Griz. Apparently they did actually trot out live bears before games up until the 30s.

Which one was around in the mid-late 1990's. That one lost in a fight to the UD Drumline (causing a ban on the UDMB at Villanova Stadium). Granted, if she just hadn't been yanking on all of the snares, she wouldn't have been cold cocked.
