Brian Jenkins has been named head coach at Alabama State, according to reports.
Jenkins, who was a decorated head coach at Bethune-Cookman, will replace Reggie Barlow, who was fired at the end of the 2014 season.
Jenkins agreeing to accept the Alsbama State job comes just days after he denied applying for the position.
“I have not applied for nothing,” Jenkins told the News Journal. “I work for B-CU and B-CU only. Can’t control others’ interest. Big recruiting weekend this week. Really don’t need this.
Jenkins has a 46-14 record in five seasons at Bethune-Cookman. The Wildcats have a 34-6 conference record under Jenkins with three FCS playoff appearances.

I'd be surprised if it was much over $200k

We are hearing that his base salary would be $180,000 but with incentives he will be making close to $325K. Along with their facilities and the desire to move up to the FBS level was enough to lure him away. Let me preface this, by no means am I saying that they are FBS ready, but their administration has the desire and want a coach who has the desire to win to get them there. Good luck coach Jenkins and much success. We appreciate what you have done for our program.

That sounds about right, that's where we put Dawson Odums at this year.
With his raise from $140k to $170 and incentives. .
.
Last year I think he made around $190k with incentives, plus he has a tv show housing allowance and a free demo.

Jenkins Named Head Football Coach - Watch Press Conference Live At 3 P.M.
Alabama State University has named Brian Jenkins head football coach, Interim Athletic Director Melvin Hines announced Tuesday.
Jenkins will be introduced Wednesday at a 3 p.m. press conference in the Club Lounge at the New ASU Stadium. The press conference will be video streamed live - Click HERE to watch.
In five seasons as head coach at Bethune-Cookman (2010-14), Jenkins' Wildcats won more than 76 percent of their games (46-14), winning or tying for four Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) titles, earning three FCS playoff berths and two HBCU national titles. B-CU won at least eight games each season, including a pair of 10-win seasons, and never finished below second place in the conference standings in posting a 34-6 record in MEAC contests, including a perfect 8-0 mark in 2012. The Wildcats also won 18 straight conference games between 2011-13, the second-longest streak in league history.

Wow. Jenkins is a pretty good coach and has had a lot of success at BCU. They've been really good in the MEAC over the past few years though they haven't broken through in the playoffs.

Good coach, good grab for Alabama state. Not sure how it helps increase his profile though?
Isn't Alabama state not playoff eligible?
IMHO,the only way he gets any pub is if they go undefeated.
