Walt Hameline has been named the 2014 Staten Island Advance Sportsman of the Year. This is the second time that the longtime Wagner athetic director, who stepped down as head football coach after 34 years on Nov. 24, has been connected to this award. The 1987 Seahawk football team, which Hameline guided to the Division III National Championship, was named Staten Island Advance Sportsmen of the Year.
