Really proud of Don Cherry and the season he's had for the Cats. That defense is nothing without. Looking for him and Robertson to sweep the Payton and Buchanan next year as seniors. I laugh at all the projections from during the season that didn't even have Cherry on the watch list despite being the most qualified person after Emmanuel

Congrats to Kyle! He's started every game for the Bison since the championship run began in 2011. He's been an integral piece of a incredible collective record of 56-3 since that time. It's pretty amazing to think that he's got a chance to finish his career with more national championships than losses.

Put up some great numbers on a defense that didn't spend much time on the field. Good for him. Has a pretty good reputation around school for being a nice guy.

Emanuel earned it.

Quinn Backus put up some good numbers, but the 2 games missed to injury hurt his chances. Before then I think he had a good shot. I still think he's a great young man, and wish him well as he takes his shot at the pros. Every prof I've spoken to that has had him in class says he's an outstanding person, and they wish more students were like him.

EDIT: To be clear, while I was rooting for Quinn I have no problem with Kyle getting the award. Again, he earned it.

I didn't say it and it is one person's opinion - but I agree that you shouldn't judge a season's worth of effort by one game. Plus I'm not even sure if he had a bad game vs Coastal - just didn't live up to the hype many of the Bison fans gave him.

There is no question Emanuel deserves it based on how his season went. Backus was not in my top 5. He was in my top 5 in 2013 but had a down year compared to his normal play this year. This was the year of the DE on my ballot. Not many DBs or LBs worthy of top 5 this year.
