It was one of our player's Fathers. The name is out from Cheney police, but I'll make you do your own research. Thoughts and prayers to family...potentially way bigger loss than just a game.

Hopefully there is no loss. Over on BigSkyfans for the Eagles they haven't said his condition was released yet, but man. I can't imagine how the team is feeling right now.

This is the final paragraph of the ESPN game story ...
A medical emergency in the stands involving the father of Eastern Washington offensive tackleJake Rodgers (http://espn.go.com/college-football/player/_/id/504837/jake-rodgers) interrupted the game for approximately 25 minutes with 1:40 to play. The elder Rodgers left by ambulance.

Statement from Eastern Washington University Head Football Coach Beau Baldwin Regarding the Passing Early Saturday (Dec. 27) of John Rodgers, who suffered a medical emergency in the stands during the final minutes of EWU’s NCAA Football Championship Subdivision Playoff Game versus Illinois State on Dec. 13. Rodgers is the father of EWU senior All-America offensive tackle Jake Rodgers.
“On behalf of the entire Eastern Washington University family and our football program, our thoughts, hearts and prayers go out to Jake Rodgers and his family during this very tough time. Jake, his family and the memory of John have become a huge part of the Eagle football family these past two years, and we will reach out to help in any way possible now and in the future. We will be there for them.”
Heart is truly broken for the Rodger's family. Prayers continue in the face of this tragedy. So fricken sorry!

I was hoping never to have to read that here. Hopefully the Eastern family will be able to lift up the Rodgers family from here just like all of us will be doing around the country.

Condolences to his family and friends, within the program and without. Never a good time for goodbye, but this time of the year is for family for many, and I hope they are able to come together for each other.
