Good afternoon AGS! I was in attendance at the CFB HOF Press Conference and here's Leonard Smith talking about what it means to be inducted and how grateful he was to attend McNeese

When he came in and they honored him and retired his jersey, he still looked as tough as nails.

The younger McNeese fans just don't know what they missed.

Leonard was part of a pretty talented defensive backfield. As a first round draft choice, he was clearly the best of the bunch, but Derrick Batiste started for Jacksonville and Oakland in the USLF, then Bernard Bell and Carlton Briscoe both signed as free agents....Neither stuck around very long, but, the McNeese D back then was salty...

New York Jet Sack Exchange member and second round draft pick Rusty Guilbeau was at DE, Bill Kingrey, who went to Chicago as a free agent was at DT, and LB Jonathan Mitchell went to The Arizona Outlawas in the USFL.

All those guys were part of the crew who played in two Independence Bowls...

I didn't know that he was the 1st Cowboy to get inducted into the HOF…I'm guessing Buford Jordan's time may be coming soon?
